Sitting alone on a worn out wooden elevation I call a chair
Remembering it like it was just yesterday
Recalling my fresher s appearance
A silky purple stripped shirt and my baggy grey pants
And those shoes that looked like flippers
Out of the blues she walked up to me
With her red chiffon shirt and black pants and a thin gold
chain to weigh her beauty
“Excuse me, is this seat taken”
Frozen I was as the then shy nature set in
No exchange of words not even a clash of eyes as she took
her sit
A seemingly rude fellow I appeared to be upfront
She sought to start a conversation all through the bore of
the lecture
Responses seemed to elude me
Forcing her into a confrontation rather than a conversation
Remembering vividly the very first question
“hey, you can talk right? because it seems I’m either boring you
or disturbing you”
Engulfed in laughter I am each time remember it
Like two peas in a pod we became
Drawing closer than ever
Like a husband would cherish his wife
So also I cherished my dear friend
Probably that was wrong of me
Got too attached I guess
A knowing of ages we had of each other
The joy the laughter and the smiles
But as far as recency goes
All this is nothing but a good old memory.
